The Aim Of Study During The Summer Vacation

My summer vacation has just started today. I got a driver's license last summer, so I am not busy at all this summer. I have free time, but not money.
First, I want to be absorbed in reading. I am busy during the term, so I can't read a lot of books. I am interested in psychological books, psychiatric books, and Japanese and Chinese classic literature. I study psychology specially, but I don't read psychological books usually. I always thought that I must read more book. I was good at Japanese and Chinese classic literature when I was a high school student. I still like them. I am going to read Sanguo Zhi.
Second, I would like to travel. I wish to go to Tokyo. If I go there, I will enjoy shopping, meet friends in Tokyo, eat Krispy Kream Doughnutshttp://krispykreme.jp/index.html, and buy many souvenirs. But temperature in Tokyo during August is very high, so I will go there in September.
Finally, I should be careful not to get ill and injure. Health First.
Enjoy your wonderful summer vacation. See you.

Around My Home

I live in Ikarashi dormitory of Niigata University now. There are save-on, circle-K, and Ume-komachi nearby the dormitory.
Save-on is a convenience store. The save-on is called "Kitabuon" by college students because it is close to north gate. Save-on is very useful. Many students visit there.http://www.saveon.co.jp/
Circle-K is a convenience store, too. Circle-K's sweets are very delicious. My recommendation is "Angel's Cheese Cake". It melts in your mouth. I recommend soft ice cream, too.http://www.circleksunkus.jp/
Ume-komachi is a restaurant that serves only set meals. Deep-fried chicken in Ume-komaci is popular and tasty. All of set meal are reasonable. We can buy a lunch meal in a box.
Each of them is very good.

Japanese Culture

Today, I am going to write about my favorite Japanese culture. I love Japanese traditional clothes. For example, KimonoYukata, Furisode, and Jinbei.

Kimono is Japanese traditional clothes. Sometimes it is called Wafuku or Gofuku. Most Japanese people don't have the skill of dressing in a kimono.  Wearing kimono is very difficult because we need to use many components. But Japanese woman want to have this skill, so many woman take kimono lessons. We wear kimono when it's the ceremonies of coming of age, marriage, burial, and ancestral worship. Kimono is expensive. I hope that I can wear kimono by myself.
Yukata is a kind of kimono. Yukata is an informal kimono for summer wear or after a bath. It is made of cotton. Japanese people wear it on the occasion of a summer festival. Patterns of yukata for woman are very plentiful. Ryokan which is a Japanese-style hotel make the arrangements for yukata for guests as a nightwear, but most of them have been simplified. You can walk about the ryokan, but you must not go out in kimono. You can buy it at a reasonable price.
Furisode is a kind of kimono, too. It is a formal kimono but only bachelor girls can wear it. Married women wear Tomesode which is a married woman's formal kimono. Furisode which is cut its sleeves become tomesode. The difference between furisode and kimono is the length of the sleeves. They wear on a coming-of-age ceremony or a wedding celebration. Coeds wear hakama over furisode on a graduation ceremony. Furisode is very expensive, too.
Jinbei  is light cotton summer clothing consisting of knee-length shorts and short-sleeved jacket, often worn at summer festival or as a nightwear. But if you wear jinbei and go out, you may be looked down upon, so you have to take great attention.

Differences between Germany and Japan

I have never been to abroad, so today I talk about differences between Germany and Japan which my German teacher told me.

First, trains. Trains in Germany (Deutsche Bahn) usually come late unlike in Japan. Station attendants are absolutely not apologize for being late. We can drink, talk with our friend in a loud voice, and sing songs in DB, too. DB is free than JR.

Second, Education. Schools in Japan start in April and end in March, but schools in Germany start in September and end in July. In Japan, 5 is the best score and 1 is the worst score, but in Germany they are reversed. 1 is the best score and 6 is the worst score in Germany.

Finally, how to write numbers. Five thousand is 5,000 in Japanese, but in Germany it is 5.000. Decimals in Japan is "." but in Germany is ",". For example, 0.1 and 0,1.

I want to go to abroad and learn differences between foreign countries and Japan. And I want to eat foreign food!

My School Trip to Okinawa

Today, I'm going to tell you about my school trip to Okinawa. When I was a high school student, I went to Okinawa on November. In Okinawa, it was hot even it was winter. I wore light clothes, but I felt little cool.

Coral reefs fish and in Okinawa are very beautiful. If you don't want to swim, you can use a glass boat. This boat's floor is glass, so if you go on this boat. you can enjoy beautiful scenery without to get wet. We were planning to go on this, but couldn't. Because a gale came close to Okinawa. And the famous aquarium (Churaumi aquarium) build near by the sea, too.http://oki-churaumi.jp/ Chyraumi
means "beautiful sea" in Okinawan language. There are some whale sharks in this aquarium. You can enjoy seeing tropical fish.

Okinawa is historical, too. There is Shuri Castle which is red and beautiful Castle. http://oki-park.jp/shurijo-park/ Many people take a picture in front of Syurei Gate. The Ryukyu Kingdom enacted in 1429, and existed until 1879. This country did a roaring trade with China, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

The Tower of Himeyuri is famous, too. This tower performs memorial rites for dead woman in the World War Ⅱ. If you visit there, you can talk with elderly woman who experienced the war and read many historical sources and see many pictures on the war. I desire you to visit there from my heart.
Finally, I introduce some Okinawan foods. Famous Okinawan foods are Soki Soba, Okinawan doughnut, Purple Yam, Goya Chanpuru, and so on. My Favorite Okinawan food is Purple Yam ice cream. It taste good. I and my friends  ate it every day through the trip. It is sold only in Okinawa, so I feel really sad.

I want to visit Okinawa again.
